Puzzles that never interrupt themselves.

PixelHaven builds small Android games with nothing bolted on: no account, no connection, no advert between attempts, nothing to buy when a run goes badly. The first is Gridwood, a block puzzle to think in.

A puzzle with no timer should not have a countdown bolted to its wallet either

Block puzzles are the most quietly monetised genre on the store. The pieces are free, the thinking is free, and then a run ends and a screen offers to undo that for a video or a coin pack. It works because the loss lands at the exact moment you were enjoying yourself — which is precisely why we will not ship it.

Gridwood ends when it ends. There is no continue, no rewind, no second chance for sale and no advert to sit through before the next board. The high score means something because nobody can buy their way past a bad placement, and the game never interrupts the one thing it is for: looking at the board and deciding where the piece goes.

GRIDWOODDROP INTO THE PIT

A calm block puzzle about fitting shapes onto a grid and clearing lines to keep the space open. Each turn hands you a few shapes; place them anywhere they fit — no gravity, no rush. Complete a full row or column and it clears, freeing room and scoring points, and clearing more than one at once pays a combo on top.

The catch is the space itself. Pieces keep coming, and when none of them fit any more, the run is over — so every placement is a small question about what you are leaving yourself. A saved high score gives you something to chase, and the think-as-long-as-you-like pace makes it a good way to wind down.

Where a run actually ends

Pick a shape to see every square it still fits. Then crowd the board and watch those options disappear — this is the whole tension of the game, with nothing to place and no score to keep.

Tap a shape on the left to light up every square it can still go.

Three fixed shapes, one board, nothing to drag and no score — you cannot play this. Gridwood is the rest of it: a fresh hand of shapes every turn, combos for clearing two lines at once, and a best score that only moves when your planning does.
