For Gridwood, the offline block puzzle for Android

Application ID: com.blockloom.gridwood
Published by: Totley Tech Ltd, Sheffield, United Kingdom
In effect from: 9 September 2026

Gridwood collects no personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and nothing to buy; the game requests no Android permissions and never opens a network connection.

Who is responsible

Gridwood is made and published by Totley Tech Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, which releases its games under the name PixelHaven Labs. Where data protection law refers to a data controller, that company is it — although in practice there is nothing to control, because the game gathers nothing.

What is saved on the device

So that a board survives closing the app and a best score means something, Gridwood writes a small file into its own private storage on your phone:

  • The board you left mid-run and the shapes currently in your hand.
  • Your current score and your saved high score.
  • Settings such as sound, haptics and board theme.

None of this identifies you. No name, email address, phone number, contact list, photo, location, advertising identifier or device identifier is involved at any point. The file never leaves the phone, and we never see it.

The high score stays yours

There is no leaderboard, no Google Play Games sign-in, no friends list and no sharing. Your best score exists in one place — the phone it was set on — and nobody else can see it, including us. That also means it cannot be transferred: clearing the app's data or moving to a new device starts it again from nothing.

Nothing interrupts a run, and nothing is sold

There is no advertising library in the build, so no advert appears between boards, none plays when a run ends, and no advertising profile is built from how you play. There is no billing library either, so there is no continue to buy, no coin pack and no payment data of any kind. A run ends when the shapes stop fitting, and that is the whole of it.

What else is deliberately absent

No analytics library and no crash reporter, so no usage events, session logs or crash traces are gathered or transmitted — we do not know how often you play or what your best score is. No account system, so no name, email address or password is ever asked for.

Gridwood also requests no Android runtime permissions at all: not camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or notifications.

Network use

None. The whole game is compiled into the download, so it opens no connection to our servers or to anyone else's and behaves identically in aeroplane mode. Because nothing is sent, nothing can be intercepted; because nothing is received, no behaviour can be switched on remotely after you install it.

The one company involved anyway

Google, because Gridwood is distributed through Google Play. When you install or update the game, Google processes that under its own privacy policy and its own agreement with you. What reaches us is the aggregated, anonymous figures shown in the developer console — install counts, ratings, country totals — which cannot be traced back to an individual player.

If a future version of Gridwood ever includes anything that touches the network, this page will be rewritten before that version is published, and the change will be described plainly rather than added quietly.

Younger players

Gridwood is a block puzzle suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either, and there is nothing in it — no adverts, no chat, no sharing, no outbound links, nothing to buy — through which a child could send information anywhere or spend money.

If you are a parent or guardian and something appears to behave differently from what is described here, please write to us and we will look into it straight away.

Your rights, and clearing your board

Under the UK GDPR, and under the EU GDPR where it applies to you, you have rights to access, correct, erase and port the personal data a company holds about you, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Those rights need data to act on, and Gridwood holds none, so there is nothing for us to send, correct or delete on your behalf. If you would like that confirmed in writing for your own records, ask and we will send it.

Your save is yours alone to remove. Start a new run in the game, clear the app's data in Android settings, or uninstall Gridwood — the file goes with it, high score included. None of that needs our involvement, and no copy is left behind, because no copy was ever made.

Complaints can go to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you wrote to us first so we can explain or fix whatever prompted it.

Changes, and how to reach us

This page is updated only when the game changes in a way that affects privacy, and the date at the top changes with it. Builds you have already installed keep behaving exactly as they do today.

Questions about this policy, a board that scored oddly, or a shape that would not sit where it should: haven@totleytech.wiki. One inbox, read by the person who wrote the game, usually within a couple of days.

This policy covers the Android application Gridwood (com.blockloom.gridwood) and no other software.
